Direct Billing

We understand that navigating insurance coverage can feel overwhelming. To make accessing counselling services easier, we offer direct billing with many extended health insurance providers.

What Is Direct Billing?

Direct billing allows us to submit claims directly to your insurance provider on your behalf. This means that, instead of paying the full session fee upfront and waiting for reimbursement, your insurance plan may cover all or part of the cost at the time of your appointment.

Any portion not covered by your plan will be your responsibility and is due at the time of service.

Insurance Providers

At this time, Yamila Luner and Melanie Zimerman are able to offer direct billing with some insurance companies. Coverage varies by provider and individual plan. Examples may include:

  • Manitoba BlueCross
  • Coming Soon: Sunlife & Telus eClaims (Canada Life, Chambers of Commerce, ClaimSecure, Coughlin & Associates, Cowan, Manulife, and more)

This list may change, and eligibility depends on your specific plan.

What You’ll Need

To use direct billing, you will need to do the following:

  • Complete our Direct Billing Consent Form
  • Email info@mindrecoverytherapy.com a picture of the front and back of your insurance card.
  • Complete your insurance companies consent form and email it to info@mindrecoverytherapy.com (we can email this form to you or you can download the form below).

Important Things to Know

  • Not all plans support direct billing for counselling services/certain types of counselling professionals
  • Some plans cover only a percentage of the session fee
  • Annual or per-visit limits may apply
  • You are responsible for any amount not covered by your insurance

We recommend contacting your insurance provider in advance to confirm your coverage for counselling services.

If Direct Billing Is Not Available

If your insurance provider does not support direct billing, we will provide you with a detailed receipt that you can submit for reimbursement.
