Frequently Asked Questions
Anyone can attend therapy; a diagnosis is not required. A confirmed diagnosis can be helpful for information purposes, but it is not necessary to have a diagnosis to receive help from our clinicians.
No, you don’t need a referral to get started. We do recommend checking your insurance to see if you need a referral on file with them to cover your appointments with us.
The cost of sessions depends on the therapist, the type of session, and the session length. You can find our prices on our online booking page for each service, or you can reach out to our lovely administration department to inquire about the cost.
We do offer direct billing with specific clinicians. Yamila Luner and Melanie Zimerman, offers direct billing for clients with Manitoba Blue Cross, SunLife, and Telus Health eClaims. Unfortunately, we do not direct bill to other insurance companies at this time and most of our clinicians are not offering direct billing as of yet. However, we provide you with receipts that contain all of the information your insurance will need to reimburse you. We highly recommend that you contact your insurance company to ensure you’ll be covered for our services, as some insurance companies only cover psychologists or social workers, so please ensure you ask if certified/registered clinical counsellors are covered under your plan.

The length of sessions depends on your preference. The most commonly booked sessions are 50 minutes, but we have 30-minute and 90-minute sessions available as well.
Not at all. While some prefer to do a free consultation beforehand, not everyone has this preference. If you’d like to go right into booking your first session, you’re welcome to do so.
We accept e-transfer and credit cards for payment.
We require 48 hours to cancel or reschedule your appointment to avoid being charged a cancellation fee. Further details can be given if you call our office or in your intake form, which is sent once a first appointment is booked.
Unfortunately, we are not able to diagnose or prescribe medication as it is beyond our scope of practice. If you are looking for a diagnosis or you are wanting to speak about medication options, we recommend speaking with your physician so that they can look into medication options and refer you to either a Psychologist or Psychiatrist for an assessment.
